November 20, 2019 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

Nathan Barry, Ph.D. is the current Dean of Career and Technical Education at Metropolitan Community College. Over the past decade, MCC has invested millions of dollars to re-energize the community, specifically the workforces of construction, manufacturing, and transportation. Since joining MCC in 2016, the CTE programs have evolved into a project-based learning environment and enrollment growth has increased over 30%. Dr. Barry’s presentation will focus on community, industry, and education’s responsiveness to the workforce shortage in the Omaha community.

Jan Christensen, Program Director of ACE Mentor Program of Greater Omaha will provide a brief overview of the Omaha ACE Program. ACE is a national nonprofit created by the integrated design, construction, and engineering industry to meet its future workforce needs.
