SUMMARY:KANSAS | March Madness Meet Up - CANCELED
DESCRIPTION:We trust this message finds you well and not personally impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This is an uncertain and anxiety-inducing time as we all work to make the best decisions for our members\, attendees\, and communities.  DBIA is monitoring COVID-19 advisories daily to inform all our decisions impacting DBIA meetings\, classes\, conferences and other events.  DBIA-MAR will be canceling all scheduled programs through April 30\, 2020. This decision has been made in the best interest of public health and out of an abundance of caution.  We will be working on rescheduling these events and will notify all attendees on the revised dates.\n\nDBIA national continues to monitor this developing situation to assess the status of our future programs. We will continue to advise you immediately\, as those decisions are made.\nThe City of Wichita provides water for nearly 500\,000 customers\, 1 out of every 6 Kansas residents.  Aging infrastructure has necessitated the design and construction of a new 120 MGD firm capacity water treatment facility\, the Northwest Water Facility (NWWF).  The facility will be the second-largest water treatment project in the country during construction and Wichita’s largest-ever capital project.  The City has chosen to use the progressive design-build delivery method and will fund the project through Kansas State Revolving Loan Fund (SRF) and a federal\, low-interest loan through the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA).  This presentation will discuss the technical aspects of the project (such as treatment techniques and challenges)\, the progressive design-build project delivery method\, and the financing of the project. \nPresenters: \nBill Perkins | Capital Program Manager | City of WichitaTy McGown\, PE | Project Manager | Burns & McDonnell \nTournament watching after the presentation. \n*Registration includes pizza\, salad & soda. \nFirst Round of drinks sponsored by DBIA-KS! \n \n
