DESCRIPTION:Nathan Barry\, Ph.D. is the current Dean of Career and Technical Education at Metropolitan Community College. Over the past decade\, MCC has invested millions of dollars to re-energize the community\, specifically the workforces of construction\, manufacturing\, and transportation. Since joining MCC in 2016\, the CTE programs have evolved into a project-based learning environment and enrollment growth has increased over 30%. Dr. Barry’s presentation will focus on community\, industry\, and education’s responsiveness to the workforce shortage in the Omaha community. \nJan Christensen\, Program Director of ACE Mentor Program of Greater Omaha will provide a brief overview of the Omaha ACE Program. ACE is a national nonprofit created by the integrated design\, construction\, and engineering industry to meet its future workforce needs. \n \n  \n    \n
